Here is our brief history

"I need not know how, all I need to know is that I will accomplish it!"

Born in Costa Rica January 19, 1952, Gustavo A. Madrigal immigrated to the United States in 1968. Newly arrived to New York City, Gustavo Madrigal started as clerk at a grocery store making $.65 an hour. Graduating from Francis Lewis High school Madrigal attended Queens Borough Community College, Bernard Baruch Business University and Florida International University, with emphasis in International Business and Finance.

From 1970 to 1976 Madrigal worked for Colgate Palmolive Co. Achieving outstanding results as Area Manager in the New York City Market.

From 1976 to 1978 Madrigal worked as Area manager for Johnson & Johnson in the Southeast in-charged of planning the introduction, distribution and brand strategy for J&J disposable diapers, attaining the highest "Sami" share of the market competing against giants as Kimberly-Clark and Procter & Gamble.

In 1978with a small capital GAM established GAMEX International and began his footwear distribution business, which went on to develop, design and source fashion footwear for many major USA retail chains.

Throughout his career Madrigal has represented world renowned footwear brands as Dockers, Johnson & Murphy, Clarks of England, Dr. Martens, Dan Post Boots and Laredo Boots.

Today Gustavo Madrigal is the CEO of The Madrigal Group, which includes  SRI Footwear Inc., Laredo Western Wear and soon the It's Cool Retail Shops.

With Offices and Distribution Centers in Doral, Florida and Panama City Panama, the Madrigal Group will continue to add iconic brands to their portfolio.
